Outdoor environments have vastly more ambient light. Outdoor TVs offer up to 3x the brightness of typical indoor TVs. Selecting the correct TV for its application and typical use (full sun, partial sun, or shade) is the biggest cost variable, but getting it wrong by setting a price target rather than a performance target has a much bigger impact than an indoor TV would see. If an application demands a full sun TV but cost is a limiter, you’re better off downsizing the screen than moving to a partial sun panel
